ImageLesley Shields-Leach, a native of Omaha, NE, is a proud mother of three and has been happily married for twelve years. She attended Lewis and Clark Junior High and graduated from Central High School. She earned her BSN at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Nursing.

Currently she is a group fitness trainer and a registered nurse. As an Emergency room nurse she is able to care for and educate patients from all walks of life. Performing her passion as a group fitness instructor, she loves being able to educate and encourage gym members through difficult workouts.

She and her husband, Michael Leach Sr., own their own fitness consulting and sports nutrition business, "Fitness Fuel". Throughout her years of teaching she realized that there was not a great deal of fitness related material specifically for Black women.

As a nurse she recognized the health concerns that Black Women are facing, i.e.; high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and cardiac disease. Recognizing the limited information available to black women and concerned with their overall health status, she was motivated to write JUST MOVE: A Black Woman's Guide to Getting Fit.

She starts by asking you to take a deep look inside yourself and analyze your current health status. You may feel intimidated by her straight talk, but I promise, you'll thank her later.

"As an ACE certified personal trainer I'm making it my lifes mission to help others reach their health and fitness goals. Only you can change you; but I promise to give you the tools to make those changes. Life is short, don't put off another day, month or year.....now is the time to get healthy: Just Move."

With Lesley's recent 1st Place win at the 2007' Bluff's Classic Figure competition , in the novice division , she is sure to reach her goal of becoming an NANBF professional figure competitior.

Lesley is now a National Body Pump trainer for Les Mills. Her love of health and fitness has led her to motivate and inspire others to become world classes instructors. Les Mills is an international leader towards the fight against global obesity. She is honored to part of such a wonderful team!
